New Year's letter
January 1, 2009
Dear LWF family,
Happy New Year! I hope you had a great Christmas celebration. Mine has been fun and I am ready to getting focused again on the Kingdom of God. I wanted to discuss a few things we’ve been talking about at church that we are doing this month.
1) We’re about to start our first ever 21 day January fast. We will start on Monday the 5th and end after church the 25th with a potluck. I hope to make it a tradition in our church to begin the year with consecration. It can be a great time of focus and ministry unto the Lord. I know it can feel like legalism but I want to make sure we fight that. Please participate however you feel the Lord lead you in this time of renewed intimacy and seclusion with God. The church will be open every morning from 6-7am Monday-Friday. We will have corporate Prayer every Wednesday night from 6:30-7:30. It will be a focused time of intercession and will build God’s Kingdom. I will have fasting kits available this Sunday to assist you in effective fasting.
2) School of His presence will be starting this Sunday. It will be a 4-week course on how to experience the Lord’s presence. It will be a great help during our fast. One of the main joys of being a Child of God is that we get to experience God’s presence. It will be for all age groups so bring your family and be ready to dive into His presence. After that we will do different schools for a few weeks. We will have a school of the Prophetic, School of Evangelism, and etc. Hopefully this will be a great time of preparation for us.
3) We will have our Annual Business Meeting Sunday January 25 after the morning service. We will be voting on new bylaws. I will have the new bylaws available to be looked at before the meeting. We are just updating them since our present ones are decades old and are out of date. It’s not the most exciting but necessary to facilitate being a fellowship. We have to have most of you there to vote on the bylaws.
It is and exciting time at LWF. We have had neatv things happen over the last year. Let’s thank the Lord for healing bodies, giving us more revelation of what He wants for us, and releasing His presence in our midst. Praise the Lord! More of God’s goodness is coming! I look forward to your partnership over the next year.
